this is what John wrote in response to the poem I wrote coming back from calgary:
Well Cheryl,The night did turn out to be quiet sobering but it was good and it makes onethink. Thanks for coming and your poetry was expressive. It brings out the doubleedged sword of Love. It is my experience that love is not always gentleand love doesn't always need to be harsh. A wise person once said, "Truelove is not a mere romance but is anxious concern for one anothers trueself." Love a gentle tug of war between sacrifice of wants and needs. Loveis also something that is developed through time. Lasting love, the kindthat fills the sea "with all of it's depth andunique colors and life" seems to be the a product of ones heart, mind, andsoul. It is a love that can't be bought, sold, or generated by man. Loveis that feeling, knowledge, and idea that makes the smallest moments of lifeseem worth it, the darkest moments seem possible, and the empty times oflife seem nothing but empty.John
I really like St. John.
