KOREA
I
finally made it to Korea after a lot of blood, sweat and back aches from sitting in a middle seat in coach on the 14 hour flight from Newark, New Jersey to Narita, Japan and then the 3 hour flight to Seoul.
If there was a way to travel economically and efficiently without seeing airports or airplanes (especially after working through them and on them all month), I would do it. Oh, you better believe I would do it!
My sister Tiffany waiting at the bus stop (above)
Me on the bus. . . where are we going?

To meet Tiffany's friend Brenda for a goodbye dinner. After 3 years in Korea as a nutritionist for the military, she is going to Texas for PA school

What? That doesn't look like Korean food! Well, duh, after being in Korea for 3 years, maybe you would want Bulgarian food too!
The next day, Tiffany and I went to see "Get Smart"

I was still laughing as we left the theatre. Go see it, you'll know what I'm talking about
Below are some Korean rice cakes (some with sweet red beans). What's so photo worthy about these is that my search for them last time I was in Korea was painstaking AND unsuccessful. We have decided these rice cakes ar seasonal. I first came across them on my mission when I had a Korean companion. I have been searching for them ever since. .. .FOUND. . .finally.

Ah, now that's more like it.
Tiff and I went to a park nearby several times. There were some slightly creepy animals in the bushes
And a playground for adults. . .actually these are work out machines.

as you see. . .it was way too much fun. .

I am still trying to figure out what this one is for.
And here we have somthing I see in almost every other country but America. Above is a bunch of older women, just chillin out, chatting in the shade and below you see what I assum are their husbands just chillin out, playing some games. . .
I don't know why we dont see it in America. Its my opinion married couples should be more social and there's nothing wrong with the girls hanging out with the girls every now and then and the guys hangiong out with the guys. I think it's good for us.
More creepy animals.
And really the main reason I came to Korea (besides it being the spring board for Mongolia and to visit my sister and brother-in-law), I had to get more Korean soap star and pop star socks! The ones I bought a year and a half ago have holes in them because I wore them so much. I thought
Rain was my little secret until I found out that Stephen Colbert has also discovered him. click
here to check it out.

Korean BBQ in a cave. . .it's still good.

And WHAT?! My semi-shy brother-in-law volunteers himself to do Karaoke
And he SANG
and sang
In Korean
And everybody loved him. No wonder he loves Korea so much. That dude is GOOD at karaoke.
So concludes my photos of Korea. Its too late to think right now, let alone make my blog interesting. I am off on another airplane ride tomorrow . . .except not to Mongolia. Mongolia fizzled and died AGAIN. The flights are all over booked. This wouldn't be so lame if it weren't the second time I've tried to do this. . . maybe third time is the charm? I hope so.
Well, the trick to flying standby is always to have a Pland B. Tomorrow I embark on Plan B: Off to Okinawa, Japan to visit my sister Stephanie. Stay tuned for more photos. . ..

Love the pics! The playground sounds fun too! I absolutely love your new do. I like the color! Did you just change it?
Thanks. Yes, I did change the color and I love it. It was even a little darker but wore off.
Stephanie (my sister) says hi.
Also, I didnt have time to mail you your Lotte 2% Peach juice from Korea but Tiffany and Matt are going to try.
Cool! Thanks for doing that for us. Let us know how much you spent and we will send you some money. You gave your sis our APO address? Tell, Stephanie I say Hi back. How long will she be in Japan? I didn't even know she was there.
